Smithsonian Anacostia Urban Gardening Program

The urban gardening program, as part of the museum's Urban Waterways initiative, addresses the growing need and demand to learn, nurture, grow, and empower our local communities. The program explores gardens as:
- Places of community and connections to our cultural past
- Spaces of stewardship
- Outdoor STEAM classrooms
- Sites of empowerment embracing community health
- Part of more extensive social networks
Through my contract with the museum I was able to produce outreach and education materials, help build the program's brand, and promote monthly workshops.
