As the Science Communications Graduate Assistant for the RESPIRAR Project, I supported the editing process of the team's guest opinion letter submitted to The Washington Post. The letter responds to Anthony S. Fauci’s recent appearance before Congress and The Post’s article, “CDC’s 6-foot distancing rule during pandemic had little scientific basis.”

In the letter, RESPIRAR experts discuss the distancing guidelines while emphasizing that the experiences of agriculture and food workers, among other frontline workers, who were disproportionately harmed during the pandemic, should be part of the conversation as lawmakers reflect on the past to prepare for future pandemics and public health emergencies.
